Welcome to Autaq Banquet Hall (“Autaq”, “we”, “us” or “our”), an event venue and catering business at 5835 Kennedy Road in Mississauga, Ontario. These Terms & Conditions explain the rules for using our website and the general terms that apply when you book an event with us.

By using autaqbanquethall.ca (our “website”) or booking our services, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use our website or services.

01

About these terms

In these terms:

  • “You” means anyone who uses our website, and the person or organization who books an event with us (the “client”).
  • “Services” means our venue rental, catering, décor, tent, event planning and related services.
  • “Event Agreement” means the written agreement you sign with us for your event, together with the quote, menu, invoice and any other documents it refers to.

Your Event Agreement comes first. These terms apply alongside your signed Event Agreement. If anything in these terms conflicts with your Event Agreement, your Event Agreement applies.

02

Using our website

You're welcome to browse our website to learn about our venue and services. When you use it, you agree not to:

  • Use it for any unlawful, fraudulent or harmful purpose
  • Send us false information, or submit inquiries in someone else's name without their permission
  • Try to gain unauthorized access to the website, its servers or any connected systems
  • Interfere with the website's operation, including by introducing viruses or other harmful code
  • Use automated tools to copy or collect content from the website

We may update, change or temporarily suspend any part of our website at any time, and we can't promise it will always be available or free from errors.

03

Our content & trademarks

The Autaq Banquet Hall name and logo, and the photos, videos, text, menus and designs on our website, are owned by us or used with permission. They're protected by Canadian and international intellectual property laws.

You may view our content and share links to our pages for personal, non-commercial use. Please don't copy, reproduce, modify or publish our content — including photos of past events — without our written permission.

04

Information on our website

We work hard to keep our website accurate and up to date, but the information on it is for general purposes only:

  • Menus, packages and prices are subject to change, and are confirmed only in your quote and Event Agreement.
  • Photos and videos may show past events with custom décor, set-ups or upgrades that aren't part of a standard package.
  • Availability shown or discussed online isn't guaranteed until your date is confirmed in writing.
  • Reviews shown on our website come from Google and reflect the opinions of the people who wrote them.
05

Quotes, tours & tastings

Quotes are estimates based on the details you give us — such as your date, guest count and menu — and are valid for the period stated on the quote. If your details change, your quote may change too.

Venue tours and menu tastings are a great way to get to know us, but they don't reserve a date. Your date is only held once your booking is confirmed as described in section 6.

06

Booking your event

You must be at least 18 years old to book an event with us. Here's how booking works:

  1. Inquiry & quote — tell us about your event, and we'll check availability and send you a quote.
  2. Tour & tasting — visit the venue and, where offered, taste your menu.
  3. Sign your Event Agreement — your date is confirmed once we've received your signed Event Agreement and your deposit.
  4. Finalize the details — confirm your final guest count, menu and timings, and make your payments by the dates in your Event Agreement.
  5. Celebrate — we set up, serve and look after your event as agreed.

What your Event Agreement sets out

Every event is different, so the specific terms for your booking are set out in your Event Agreement, including:

  • The deposit required to confirm your date
  • Your payment schedule and the date your final balance is due
  • The deadline for your final guest count
  • Cancellation and rescheduling terms
  • Your menu, package inclusions and event timings

Please read your Event Agreement carefully before signing, and ask us about anything that isn't clear. You're responsible for making sure the details you give us are accurate and complete.

07

Payments

Payments are due in the amounts and on the dates set out in your Event Agreement, using the payment methods we accept. Applicable taxes, including HST, are added as shown in your quote, Event Agreement or invoice.

If a payment isn't received by its due date, we may take the steps described in your Event Agreement. If you have any concerns about a payment, please contact us as early as possible — we're happy to talk it through.

08

Changes & cancellations

Changes you request

Please send any changes to your date, guest count, menu or services to us in writing. We'll do our best to accommodate them, but changes depend on availability and may change your price. A change is confirmed only once we've agreed to it in writing.

If you need to cancel or reschedule

Cancellations and rescheduling are handled according to the terms in your Event Agreement. Please let us know in writing as soon as possible.

If we need to cancel

If we're unable to host your event for reasons beyond our control, section 11 applies. In the unlikely event that we have to cancel for any other reason, we'll let you know as soon as possible and refund the payments you've made for that event.

09

Food, dietary needs & allergies

Your safety matters to us. Please tell us in writing, before your event, about any food allergies, intolerances or dietary needs among your guests, so our kitchen can plan for them.

Our kitchen prepares many dishes and handles common allergens. While we take great care, we can't guarantee that any dish is completely free from allergens or traces of them. Guests with severe allergies should speak with our team before the event.

If an ingredient becomes unavailable, we may substitute it with one of similar quality. We'll let you know in advance if a change affects your menu in a meaningful way.

10

Your responsibilities at the event

To help every event run smoothly and safely, as the client you're responsible for:

  • Making sure your event follows the timings in your Event Agreement. Extra time depends on availability and may involve additional charges.
  • The conduct of your guests, and making sure everyone follows applicable laws and the reasonable instructions of our staff.
  • Damage to our venue, furniture or equipment caused by you, your guests or vendors you hire, beyond normal wear and tear.
  • Making sure any outside vendors you hire — such as a DJ, photographer or decorator — coordinate their arrival, set-up and take-down with our team and follow the venue guidelines we provide.

We may ask anyone behaving in an unsafe, abusive or unlawful way to leave the venue.

Personal belongings

We're not responsible for personal belongings, gifts, cards or décor brought to the venue, except where loss or damage is caused by our negligence. Please arrange for gifts and cards to be taken home at the end of the event. Items left behind will be held for a reasonable time — please contact us to collect them.

11

Events beyond our control

We're not responsible for delays or failures to provide our services caused by events beyond our reasonable control — such as fire, flood, severe weather, power or utility failures, public health orders, government restrictions or emergencies.

If an event like this affects your booking, we'll contact you as soon as possible and work with you to find a new date. Any credit or refund will be handled as set out in your Event Agreement and as required by law.

12

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Our website and its content are provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind.
  • We're not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential losses, such as loss of income or travel costs.
  • Our total liability for any claim relating to an event will not exceed the amount you paid us for that event.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that can't be limited or excluded by law, including liability for our negligence or any rights you have under Ontario consumer protection laws.

13

Third-party links & services

Our website includes features and links provided by other companies — such as Google reviews, our 360° virtual tour, and links to YouTube, Facebook and Instagram. We don't control these services and aren't responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices. Your use of them is governed by their own terms and policies.

14

Privacy

We respect your privacy. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal information when you use our website and services.

15

Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.

If you have a concern, please contact us first — most issues can be resolved quickly by talking with our team. If we can't resolve a dispute together, it will be decided by the courts of Ontario.

Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under Ontario consumer protection laws that can't be waived.

16

General terms

  • Entire agreement — these terms, your Event Agreement and our Privacy Policy make up the full agreement between you and us about our services.
  • Transfers — you may not transfer your booking to another person without our written consent.
  • Severability — if any part of these terms is found to be invalid, the rest remains in effect.
  • No waiver — if we don't enforce a term right away, we can still enforce it later.
  • Notices — we may contact you about your booking using the email address or phone number you give us.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We'll post the updated version on this page with a new “Last updated” date. For a booked event, the terms in effect when you signed your Event Agreement apply, unless we both agree otherwise in writing.
